Method: Qualitative descriptive analysis was performed for verbatim transcripts produced from semi-structured interviews of ten patients receiving outpatient care for chronic pain from RA. Results: Perception of pain among RA patients comprised three categories: “pain that only the patient can understand”; “comprehension of factors exacerbating pain”; and “endurance of anxiety arising from pain” Self-care comprised four categories: “behaviors that could be taken in the here and now”; “improvisations to facilitate daily living”; “ways to cope with pain”; and“voluntary behaviors to prevent aggravation”. Factors promoting self-care consisted of two categories:“presence of a comfortable living environment prepared by family members”and “positive outlook toward life with RA”. Conclusion: The experiences of RA patients receiving outpatient care for chronic pain offer clues that may be helpful in understanding perceptions of pain, self-care and factors promoting self-care.}, pages = {29--42}, title = {慢性疼痛がある関節リウマチ患者の病の経験に見るセルフケア}, volume = {9}, year = {2018}, yomi = {クワタ, エミコ and フルセ, ミドリ} }
