Most of the participants in this study were presumed to be anxious when asked to speak L2. 68 students answered the questionnaire both at the 1st and the 9th lessons. Three factors, anxiety, perceived competence and avoidance of speaking L2, were analyzed and the paired-samples t-test was conducted to compare learners’ changes between Time 1 and Time 2. There were not significant differences in “anxiety” and “perceived competence”, hence the result on “avoidance” indicated learners’ tendencies of avoiding speaking L2 significantly increased. Also, the learners were grouped into 4 using cluster analysis.
